Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

NDC THUGS ON RAMPAGE IN TAMALE!

A number of well-built young men yesterday stormed the offices of the Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Committee (NADMO) of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly in Tamale to physically take over his office! The group, numbering in the dozens, stormed the offices of the NADMO Coordinator, Mr. Bawa Bako Alhassan-Metro NADMO Coordinator for Tamale Metropolis, a little after midday but met his absence.

So far a report has been made to the Tamale Police Command.
Speaking to this newspaper from Tamale yesterday, an eyewitness to the incident stated that sometime after 12:15 yesterday, a number of supporters of the NDC stormed the offices of the NADMO Coordinator, demanding that he hand over his office whilst they threw stones at the offices of the Metropolitan Assembly.
At the time, according to the eyewitness, the Coordinator was out of the office, and his highly distressed secretary one Madam Yakubu could do nothing but flee the office in search of assistance.
Speaking to this newspaper in reaction to reports that his office had been attacked, Mr. Bawa Baako Alhassan, who has been attacked before, stated that he was in town when he received a distress call from his Secretary, Madam Yakubu that she had been attacked by a number of thugs.

“She said that she was in the office when group of NDC supporters came in their numbers and said they have come to take over the office,” Mr. Alhassan said.

Mr. Alhassan, who was speaking from the Tamale Central Regional Police Command, said that on the 18th February this year his house was burnt together with his three pick-ups.
“My house, a 19 bedroom compound house, and a lot of properties were all. I am still recovering from this tragedy. My wife was butchered and hospitalized at the 37 Military Hospital for two months. We have just returned and this is happening,” he said.

“They came and they said they want to take over the office from me. The Municipal Chief Executive had a wind of it and called the police who went there to restore calm. I am currently at the police station making a report,” Mr. Alhassan said.
